Wanda is a full time Maui artist. She studied towards her fine arts Degree at Pima collage and the University of Guam. Her lifelong fascination with the arts and living in Hawai’i and the Pacific inspire her work. Her watercolors, oils and mixed paintings radiate the luminous vitality of plants and Landscapes. Shape and movement are important elements of her original designs. These compositions along with her studies in color theory give unity to her strong body of work. The essence of my work is to engage the viewer using the interaction of color and abstract plant designs to feel man’s connection to the environment. I am reminded of how people also fashion their lives to be able to grow yet place restrictions to keep a pattern in place. And that is why I must paint.
